The proper adoption and consumption of mobile apps in your enterprise is what will separate your digital transformation journey’s success from the laggards in your industry.

The proliferation of mobile apps comes at a time when companies are struggling to understand what device setup ecosystem is best for them, whether it’s a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) or Corporately Owned, Personally Enabled (COPE) environment. From there, mobilizing legacy apps or creating new functions altogether is a constant push and pull between the expensive and laborious procedure of in-house design and development to solution provider deployments.

In our five-day LIVE online event, we’ll uncover the reasons behind poor app adoption and quick abandonment, discover how to overcome simple app complexities and lifecycle challenges, while exploring best practices for securing and measuring the ROI of your entire mobile application portfolio. From Monday, March 19 to Friday, March 23, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in five interactive live webinars that will focus on one different topic each day.

Day 1 -  Monday 25th September 2017

Session 1 - 09:00 am EST

Where AI and RPA meet in AP: Using machine learning to extract invoices and robotics to enter data into SAP

Processing invoices is a challenge for every single company:

•      Image-based PDFs, documents, and email messages pour into businesses every day with invoice data
•      OCR is imperfect, and every variation of an invoice means a different set of rules
•      It’s too expensive and time consuming to configure rules or write scripts to automate the extraction of each invoice format

What’s the solution? WorkFusion brings together in one platform BPM, OCR, RPA, and cognitive automation to:

•      Configure an end-to-end workflow that pairs people and bots (BPM)
•      Digitize invoices (OCR)
•      Learn the content and context of invoices from a set of invoices and then automate attribute extraction (cognitive)
•      Enter invoice data into SAP (RPA).

The results? After learning from only 630 documents, WorkFusion brought STP rates for invoice extraction from 0% to 50% with 97% accuracy and reduced the time per invoice from 23 minutes to 1 minute.

The Codeless Future Of Mobile Apps

What happens when power goes to the people? In the world of apps, it means citizen developers can now build upon low and no code systems to enable better workflows and processes – all with the swipe of a finger.

“Corbins Electric relies on a Rapid Mobile Application Development (RMAD) platform that allows them to build an unlimited number of fully-customizable mobile and desktop applications, laser-focused on adding value such as efficiency, visibility and accountability within the organization,” said Martin. “This has enabled Corbins Electric to go from one to six developers and built scores of apps that have changed the business.”

Controlling The Mobile App Lifecycle From Start To Finish

From inception to end-of-life, the mobile app lifecycle needs to be nurtured throughout the process, no matter how long. What are the key phases of the mobile app lifecycle, and how can enterprises ensure they’re controlling it from start to finish?

“It is not just architecture and design, but also managing the entire ecosystem from the type of accounts to create and use for deployment, to management of vendor built apps,” said Ramnath Cidambi, CIO for the Illinois Assistance Commission, who will be presenting during this webinar. “What type of tools do I need to ensure I manage the lifecycle of an app successfully? It is also not just building apps but also about retiring apps – how and when do I that? These are just some of the questions we’ll aim to answer during this session.”

Ramnath Cidambi is a technology professional with over 25 years of experience. He is Chief Information Officer at Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC). ISAC is a State of Illinois agency that manages numerous Financial aid programs as well as a 529 Prepaid Plan. As part of the state’s IT Transformation initiative, Ramnath has led the “Going Mobile” initiative to mobile enable citizen interactions. Ramnath has previously worked in IT leadership positions at Monster Worldwide, United Airlines. Ramnath has been a featured speaker on SOA, Event processing and Enterprise Linux at various conferences. His educational background includes an MBA from DePaul University and M.Sc(Tech) Engineering Technology from BITS, Pilani, India.

Faulty Foundation: Killing Complexity Of Enterprise Apps

The design and development of enterprise apps is costly in terms of time and money, but for what? An overly complex app that is abandoned within weeks of deployment? It’s time to kill the complexity associated with creating enterprise apps.

“When it comes to securing your app, one area that is often overlooked is the SOTA: Scope Of The App,” said Mark Willis, Director, Global Security Software and Mobile Security Group at Aetna, who will be presenting on the topic. “Understanding the scope of your app is a key component to delivering an app that is just large enough to do what it was designed to do but no larger – thereby presenting a limited attack surface to attackers.”

Willis will discuss the concept of reducing the attack surface of the mobile app by providing a roadmap for better understanding of the SOTA.

Mark is the Director of Aetna’s Global Security Software and Mobile Security Group, hosts Aetna’s internal, worldwide Global Security Radio Show “Cyber Security Today”, and serves as an implementation lead for Aetna’s 3rd party risk management and security tool development. Since joining Global Security in 2014, Mark constructed an industry leading security testing program that covers API, Desktop, Mobile, Network, and Web Applications. He lives in Maine with his wife and two children on a 200 year old farm where he continues to live by the Jack London Credo.

Finding App ROI Through Time And Money

The better the technology, the more efficient the workflow. When time is money, mobile applications can be the single best solution for an enterprise looking to save both. Understanding which lines of business can most benefit from app abilities is the first step on the path to mobile success.

Brad Shafton, Director of Innovation & UX at Hologic, who will be speaking on the topic during Webinar Week, said, “Defining ROI can be a tricky proposition on mobile applications. “Many efficiencies come from process, or are seen as just keeping up with the competition. So how do we show value in our investments? What are we looking for to justify the next project? It can be tough to compare one project to the next but we have to define some consistency to see where our investments are worthwhile and when we need to move on.”
